Built Around a 300-Year-Old Well and the Cells Once Bound for Robben Island - History at the Waterfront's Edge

Cape Town does not hold still long enough to be one thing. Table Mountain, the Atlantic coastline, and centuries of layered history all sit within reach of The Portswood Hotel.

The Portswood Hotel stands at the entrance to the V&A Waterfront, its lobby and restaurant built around a 300-year-old well and the cells that once held prisoners bound for Robben Island.

Three guided days follow: a half-day tour tracing Table Mountain and the colour of Bo-Kaap, a full day along the Cape Peninsula to the penguins of Boulders Beach, and a full day through the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
