Exploring the National Park and banks of the Zambezi on horseback is a unique and exciting way to further engage with the beautiful animals that we share the planet with. The trail winds its way through a game area that is overflowing with vegetation, birds, and wildlife. 

Novice Rides: 

Exploring the National Park and banks of the Zambezi on horseback is a unique and exciting way to further engage with the beautiful animals that we share the planet with. The trail winds its way through a game area that is overflowing with vegetation, birds, and wildlife. An experienced guide will accompany the trip, and explain the intricacies of our eco-system as clients explore the landscape and learn from their guide about the wide variety of flora, fauna, history, and ecology of the area.

At the beginning of the ride clients are given instructions on how to handle the horses, and the ride is conducted per their ability and inclination, with the pace at the discretion of the guide. A licensed guide and a tracker accompany all rides.

General information: 

  • Total length of activity – approximately 3 hours including transfers, safety talk & drinks.

  • Min pax x 1

  • Max pax x 4 on each ride - we will split larger groups – we can take up to 6 or 8 clients at once.

  • Weight limit – maximum weight 85 kgs in your riding clothes. We reserve the right to not take a client whose physical condition is, in our opinion, a danger to themselves and their horse.

  • All clients must sign an Indemnity Form before the safari commences. A parent or guardian needs to sign for their children under the age of 18.

  • Please do not book clients who are pregnant, suffer from back problems, epilepsy, or heart conditions.

  • All novice riders must wear a helmet

  • No client may undertake a safari if under the influence of alcohol or any other form of narcotic. We reserve the right to prevent any client from taking the safari if in the opinion of the guide or manager their condition renders them a danger to themselves and other clients.

Excursion Includes:

  • Refreshments - Tea, coffee, fruit juice and biscuits are served in the stable gardens as clients watch the spray of the fall. Cordials and snacks or biscuits are served under the shady teak trees afterwards. Snacks may include olives, nuts, and cheese biscuits.

  • Please inform us of any special requests.

  • Return Transfer from Within Victoria Falls Town


What you need to bring:

  • Clients are requested to wear neutral colours, no bright or white colours please.

  • Wear walking shoes

  • Long trousers

  • A peak or sun hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Early Morning:  Earlier in hotter months – October for instance.

    • Summer (August to March) 05h45 – 06h00

    • Winter (April to July) 06h30-07h00

  • Mid Morning: (Not run in October and other very hot months)

  • Late Afternoon:

Experienced Rides:

An experienced guide will accompany the trip, and explain the intricacies of our eco-system as clients explore the landscape and learn from their guide about the wide variety of flora, fauna, history, and ecology of the area.

Clients may explore the dramatic and unique scenery of the Batoka Gorge. There are plenty of opportunities to gallop.

 

Riding ability: You must be able to ride unassisted and with reasonable confidence at all paces. At minimum, you should have mastered basic aids, can do a rising trot for stretches of at least 10 minutes at a time. You should be riding fit! Or at least fit!

General information: 

  • Total length of activity: approximately 3 hours including transfers, safety talk & drinks. You are in the saddle for up to 2 ½ hours

  • Minimum pax - 1

  • Maximum pax – 4 on any one ride – we split larger groups and can 6-8 pax at once.

  • Weight limit in your riding clothes – maximum weight. 90kg. We reserve the right to not take a client whose physical condition is, in our opinion, a danger to themselves and their horse. Note exceptions might be made to taller, fit clients who can ride.

  • Please do not book clients who are pregnant, suffer from back problems, epilepsy or heart problems.

  • We recommend all riders wear a helmet. We do loan helmets but all clients in longer safaris of more than a day should bring your own.

  • No clients may undertake a safari if under the influence of alcohol or any other form of narcotic.

What you need to bring:

  • No bulky backpacks.

  • The guides carry your water. And a small amount of other things.

  • Small camera or go-pro, any personal medication. Use a small waist bag to carry these and any cash.
