Ila Safari Lodge is situated on the banks of the Kafue River, on the threshold of one of Zambia's oldest National Parks, the Kafue National Park. 

The lodge sits right on the banks of the Kafue River in an area of abundant wildlife and boasts 180 degree views out over the water.

Ila Safari Lodge is a new (2016) true eco-lodge providing facilities of the highest quality to a maximum of 24 guests. Soon after being welcomed by our team you will be basking in the tranquility and luxury of our lodge surrounded by the vast Kafue wilderness. Activities include game drives, boat cruises, fishing trips and walking safaris. You are likely to spot elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, hippo, crocodile, all manner of antelopes, an incredible variety of birds and much more.

Ila Safari Lodge offers international and SADC rates. The international rate is fully inclusive and the SADC rate is full board.

Child Policy

• Children of all ages are most welcome at Ila.

• Children aged 12 and under pay 50% if sharing with 2 adults.

• Children aged 4 and under stay for free.

Access details

• FROM LUSAKA: Ila Safari Lodge is located 265km from the Zambian capital city of Lusaka and is reachable either by road or air.

• By Air - Charter flights are available from Lusaka to our closest airstrip Chunga. The airstrip is a 45 minutes game drive away from Ila Safari Lodge through the wild Kafue bush.

• By Road - Drive time from Lusaka is approximately 3.5 hours on well maintained tar roads all the way with 65km of the journey through the park. We offer road transfers in our air-conditioned and comfortable minibus at affordable rates.

• For self drivers - follow the M9 out of Lusaka to our clearly signposted turnoff just before you reach Hook Bridge. From the turnoff there are 5kms of good gravel to access the lodge. A small sedan would easily manage the trip.

• By Bus - There are also several bus companies that service this route. You can book online withwww.dczambia.com or pay at the City Central Bus Station. The best bus companies to use would be Juldan or Shalom Bus Services. These buses travel 3 times a day to Western Zambia with their journey concluding in Mongu. You would just need to ask the driver of the bus to drop you at our turnoff where a vehicle will be waiting with a welcoming driver and an ice cold drink!
  FROM LIVINGSTONE - Ila Safari Lodge is located approximately 500 kms from Livingstone and is reachable either by road or air.

• By Air - Charter flights are available from Livingstone to our closest airstrip Chunga. The airstrip is a 45 minutes game drive away from Ila Safari Lodge through the wild Kafue bush.

• By Road - The drive from Livingstone to Ila Safari Lodge is a long one at more or less 9 hours depending on which route you take. There is a route through the park and one west or east of the park. The drive should only be undertaken if you are an experienced self driver, particularly the route through the park. For more information please contact us directly.
