Bushtrackson on board FastJet's Inaugural Flight from Victoria Falls to Kruger

Christopher and Sam Tett, founders of Bushtracks Africa, and Simon Teede, General Manager and International Sales at Bushtracks Africa, was delighted to be on board for the first official flight from Victoria Falls to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. The flight took place on March 16, 2022.

Mr. Teede said, "the direct flight service will link the two popular tourist destinations, allowing guests to combine the greater Kruger region and the KAZA region with ease. This means that the bucket list destinations of Victoria Falls, Chobe, Hwange, and Kruger can all be seamlessly integrated into one trip."

Fastjet Group Chief Commercial Officer Julian Edmunds echoed the same sentiments, saying that the nonstop service will benefit "those who want to make the most of their vacation by visiting multiple Southern African destinations in a single trip."

The inaugural flight received a warm welcome at Victoria Falls International Airport, with a water cannon salute and traditional singers and dancers performing.

Nunurai Ndawana, a spokeswoman for Fastjet Zimbabwe, stated, "We think that by facilitating accelerated travel between these two internationally known tourism sites, Zimbabwe and South Africa, this route will contribute significantly to the region's tourism revival."

Fastjet also intends to connect Victoria Falls to Maun, Botswana, by mid-year, further enhancing Victoria Falls as a hub for travel in the Southern Africa region. Maun serves as the gateway to the Okavango Delta.

The flights are scheduled to run in both directions each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Additional schedules will be introduced later in the year, and flights are expected to run daily in the peak season. The route will take place in a 50-seater Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft, which offers comfortable seats and generous legroom.
