Chundu Island Lodge, on the Zambezi River upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls is set to reopen it’s doors after a renovation on the 1st of November. Chundu Island is an extension of the Zambezi National Park and offers guests luxurious, peaceful and serene accommodation in private suites that overlook the flowing waters of the Zambezi, in a totally wild setting.

The camp itself sleeps a maximum of 20 guests, in 8 luxurious suites, and guests can partake in a number of activities during their stay, such as canoeing, game drives in the Zambezi National Park, guided game walks around the island - which offers spectacular birding opportunities, and guests can also float downstream on a sundowner cruise, or an inflatable canoes to catch one of the Zambezi’s famous sunsets.”

Chundu Island Lodge is an exclusive island retreat unlike any other on the Zambezi. With a strong focus on service and privacy, this is one of the best options for a private getaway where one can truly immerse themselves in the magic of the Mighty Zambezi and it's surroundings.

“The overall design intention for Chundu Island Lodge is to create a barefoot luxury’ feel that allows for peaceful, laidback, low carbon footprint immersion into rich, beautiful natural surroundings. A crucial element of achieving that is facilitating a unique privacy that amplifies the isolation of being on an island in the mighty Zambezi River, overlooking the Zambezi National Park” said Paul Fairburn, foreman of the lodge’s construction.
