Conservation and Wildlife Protection, Kafue National Park, Zambia

Bushtracks Africa supports several conservation organizations, including Musekese Conservation, by participating in the annual Elephant Charge event. Based in Zambia, this organization focuses on wildlife conservation efforts in the Kafue National Park.

Musekese Conservation was founded by Jeffrey & McKeith Safaris, the owners of Musekese Camp, which is one of our suggested Bushtracks destinations in Kafue. The organization works closely with Zambia's Department of National Parks, Wildlife Crime Prevention and Zambian Carnivore Programme, which protect the wildlife of the Kafue region.

They are actively involved in patrolling areas of the national park, locating and removing snares set up by poachers, recovering illegal bush meat, recovering illegal weapons, apprehending poachers and the de-snaring of animals who have been caught in snares and have escaped. Below is a recent report from on the ground:

This organization relies solely on donations and funding from Jeffrey & McKeith Safaris for support. Without this income they would not be able to continue the fantastic work that they are doing, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member and supporter of this organization for working tirelessly to protect our wildlife so that everyone can enjoy and appreciate these amazing creatures in the African bush.

Here is an example of the type of life saving work they do for Zambian wildlife:
