Africa's Travel Indaba will be rescheduled due to National Elections in South Africa

During his State of the Nation Address, South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, announced that the national elections will be held on 8 May 2019.

This date falls right in the middle of the original allocated dates for Africa's Travel Indaba, which was due to be held in Kwa-Zulu Natal from 6 - 9 May. SA Tourism has announced that the Indaba has been rescheduled and brought forward by four days, which is likely to affect travel plans of those who planned on attending. The Indaba will now be held from 2 - 4 May 2019. The destination will remain the same.

“We will now work with all our trade partners to ensure that there is smooth transition into the new date as many would’ve had plans in place already for the previous date. We still have a key role to play in achieving Indaba’s objectives of selling South Africa and the continent to the rest of the world.” - Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, the CEO of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa.
