The 'Mr Ben' Scholarship to honour the late Ben Parker of Tongabezi, Zambia

We are extremely sad to report on the passing of Ben Parker, the Chairman and Co-founder of Tongabezi, Zambia.

During his life, Ben touched many lives and implemented many welcome changes in the local community of Livingstone in Zambia. He promoted sustainable tourism, as well as supported Tujatane school, which was founded by his wife, Vanessa. In honour of his life and warm-hearted generosity, the school will be creating the 'Mr Ben' Scholarship, which will be awarded to an ex-Tujatane pupil who has completed secondary school and shown courage and optimism in the face of difficulty or seemingly impossible circumstances.

The scholarship is to be awarded to a child every year, or as often as possible, depending on funding. The child will be supported through university, college or an apprenticeship. Funds are already being raised for this wonderful scholarship, in the hopes of continuing his legacy and helping individuals achieve their personal hopes and dreams. A JustGiving page has been set up for anyone who wishes to donate to this inspiring cause, which can be viewed here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/benjaminjparker

Our thoughts are with Ben's family during this difficult time, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
